To study interdependence between pro-inflammatory cytokines and erythropoietin in chronic heart failure (CHF) patients with anemia. Materials and methods: For the study 95 patients with CHF that developed as a result of ischemic heart disease were chosen. Patients were divided into three groups. The first group consisted of 30 CHF patients with iron deficiency anemia. The second group consisted of 35 CHF patients with anemia of chronic disease. The control group consisted of 30 CHF patients without anemia. In all patients serum levels of ferrokinesis, erythropoietin and levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines (IL-1, IL-6 and α-TNF) were measured.en_US
