Unfortunately, the lack of elementary hygiene knowledge and awareness of the population, especially adolescent girls, about the physiology and pathology of the reproductive system leads to late detection and treatment of delayed sexual development. Deficiency of sex hormones in mental retardation determines the clinical manifestations of pathology. The most common for all forms are signs of sexual infinity, hypotrophy of the external genital organs, lagging bone age, osteopathy (disturbances in bone tissue metabolism), primary amenorrhea or secondary menstrual dysfunction. Based on the following, you need to know that delayed sexual development, being a very common pathology among gynecological diseases of adolescents, leads to a violation of one of the main functions of the female body - reproductive. Adolescent girls suffering from mental retardation are candidates for risk groups for infertility, recurrent miscarriage and various types of severe neuro-endocrine disordersen_US
