Abstract: This article presents the general information about chronic pancreatitis and promotes the historical development of the genetic approach of chronic pancreatitis etiopathogenesis. In addition, the role of genes that regulate inflammatory mediators such as cytokines and chemokines is discussed with the integration of examples from numerous researches.
