| dc.description.abstract | The historical stages in the development of hernioplasty methods are analyzed, starting with the use of various prosthetic materials in the 19th century and ending with the discovery of synthetic polymers in 1935. The history of the use of mesh prostheses in the surgery of inguinal hernias is covered. Particular attention is paid to various types of synthetic materials, their characteristics, effectiveness, as well as prospects for the development of biotechnologies for the creation of biologically inert meshes. Current trends in the selection of mesh materials, the influence of their characteristics on the incidence of complications, as well as the prospects for using nanofiber biotechnology methods to create biologically inert meshes are considered. | en_US |
