dc.description.abstract Today, diabetes mellitus is one of the most powerful risk factors for the development of cardiovascular diseases and its complications. [1] In 50% of patients with type 1 diabetes and in 80% of people with type 2 diabetes, early disability and premature death are recorded due to cardiovascular complications. People with diabetes are often at risk for strokes, heart attacks, and high blood pressure. In this regard, the main strategy for the treatment of patients with diabetes is to prevent the development of cardiovascular complications, which includes strict control of glycemia, blood pressure, as well as antiplatelet and lipid-lowering therapy. en_US
