Thyroid hormones are potent mediators of numerous physiological and metabolic processes, including blood coagulation and their abnormalities, can adversely
affect various steps in the coagulation cascade.The effect of thyroid hormone on the
coagulation – fibrinolytic system is mainly mediated through interaction of the hormone and its receptors. Various changes in the coagulation cascade are observed due to autoimmune thyroiditis
