Abstract:
This review article presents literature data on the
significance of the role of such factors as systemic inflammation, insulin resistance, expression of genes responsible for the development of fat cells, fatty acids, synthesis
and breakdown of lipids, inflammatory and anti-inflammatory cytokines, adipokines, various hormones, as well
as the relationship of receptors regulating the action biologically active substances, eating behavior and human
appetite management. In this regard, identifying molecular-biological and genetic markers that are important
in the course and development of the disease in the management of patients with obesity and metabolic syndrome
is one of the urgent problems of modern medicine.
